Year 5 2020 - 2021

Homework Breakdown

Homework will be given out on Thursdays and consists of an English and Maths task.
A Creative Topic Grid will be given out at the beginning of a new topic (usually beginning of each half term) where the children will be expected to complete one task before the end of the term.

Spellings are also given to practice every Thursday. The children will then have a test on these words the following Wednesday. Reading rewards are also awarded for the completion of sufficient reading at home to an adult over the half term.
Homework club takes place every lunchtime in the ICT suite if extra time is needed to complete the tasks.
Spare homework sheets are on Miss Williams's desk to collect if needed. Please do let us know if you have any questions regarding homework.

Please note homework in Autumn term will most likely be recapping Year 4 skills to ensure the children have a firm grasp of the Year 4 curriculum. All homework will be based on work done in class and so all pupils should be able to complete homework independently. If this is not the case and your child does struggle, please get in contact with me by leaving a note or advising your child to come and talk to me. I will then go over these struggles with your child.
