We are excited to begin 2026 with a brand new and fascinating history topic in Year 4: The Romans!
Throughout this topic, the children will explore how the Roman Empire expanded and what life was like during this powerful period in history. They will learn about the Roman invasion of Britain, how people in Britain reacted, and the impact the Romans had on daily life, including roads and towns. We will also look closely at the legacy the Romans left behind and how it still influences Britain today.
To support learning at home, children can complete activities from the Creative Homework page, which links closely to our classroom learning. These activities are designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity and deepen understanding of Roman life in an enjoyable way.
We’re really looking forward to an exciting and immersive topic and can’t wait to see the children’s enthusiasm as they step back in time to the age of the Romans!
