Kirkstall St. Stephen’s C of E (Voluntary Aided) Primary School

Collective Worship Crew

Our collective worship crew meets every half-term - we plan an act of collective worship, we help with class collective worship and we help evaluate what happens in collective worship.
Collective worship crew prayer stations

Collective worship crew has set up a prayer station in each classroom. Here are some photos of the prayer stations in action.

Open the Book team

The Open the Book team from St. Stephen's church come to school once a month. They re-enact a Bible story which we really enjoy. Here they are retelling the story of Jesus calming the storm. Why do you take the time to come in to our school and do OTB? "We like teaching you Bible stories and pass on the good news of Jesus. We also like dressing up and seeing your smiling faces!" When you were children were you interested in God and RE? "Yes we were." Although Bob confessed he was sent to Sunday school and kept going because he got rewards! How long have you been doing OTB? The Collective Worship Crew had some questions for the OTB team. "This is the start of our 5th year - it took 3 years to finish the Old Testament." We also discovered that there are Open the Book teams all over the country visiting schools.
