Hesketh Farm

Following on from our last topic 'On the Farm', Year 2 went on a school trip to Hesketh Farm. We had the most amazing day and the children were so well behaved, they were a credit to our school! We had so many amazing hands on activities from a tractor ride with Farmer Chris to egg collecting and even feeding baby lambs with bottles! Take a look at our photographs. They are lovely!

Making apple crumble 16/5/18

We made some delicious apple crumble today at school from scratch! We used apples, flour, sugar, cinnamon and butter. We ate our crumble with some lovely vanilla ice- cream.

Exlporing plants

The children have been looking at parts of plants and trees and have been to the church garden to see what trees and plants are growing there. They took sketches and labelled their drawings.

The children each bought in a shoe box from home as they decided they would like to make aquariums in Art. They decorated the inside and then used string to hang their own sea creatures inside.

Trapped in the ice!

Help!! Some superheroes have become trapped in the ice. We decided to test different ways of melting the ice to see which method would melt the quickest. We used cold water, warm water, chisels and using our hands.

Trip to Skipton Castle 23/1/18

We had a lovely trip to Skipton Castle. We learnt so much and had a chance to explore all the different parts of the castle. The children had a great time and were a credit to KSS!

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of
