Earlier this term, Year 6 used clay to sculpt Ancient Mayan artefacts such as: weaponry, calendars, armour, jewellery and musical instruments. We were really happy with how they turned out.
A video of half of our assembly before the IPad battery ran out!
Year 6 discussed seed dispersal and plant reproduction. We discussed the various ways plants spread their seeds then went on a nature walk to find some for ourselves. The second investigation was on how birds have adapted to suite their environment and their diet- particularly focussing on beak structure. The children then had a go at picking up various objects representing different food types with a variety of instruments to replicate the various beak actions.
